Habi's latest addition to its growing community-sourced materials is the Yakan weave, an intricate and indigenous weaving tradition by the Yakan tribe of the Southern province, Lamitan, Basilan.

Habi supports the Lamitan weavers through supporting the beauty of its culture and sourcing the Yakan cloth straight from the community.

The Yakan fabric is known for its signature geometric patterns, easily distinguishable through the diamond shaped and brightly colored garments. The patterns and colors showcase the Yakans' vibrant perspective on their surroundings and nature, making it a standout and signature representation of their collective identity.

Through time, the Yakan has cemented itself as one of the most important symbols of the Mindanawon, giving glory to the age-old tradition of weaving by opening itself to be responsibly upholded through fashion, lifestyle, and cultural expression.
