Kawan, Filipino for “herd”, symbolizes the resilience and positivity of the people of Payatas, home of the Virgil Eco Weavers. Sewing and weaving have played a significant role in transforming Payatas into a place of hope and opportunity with a growing micro-enterprises ecosystem. The signature basket weave design is created from strips of upcycled, scrap fabric.
